Getting Started as a Business

Business · Getting Started

Here's the full path from a brand-new account to a fully working store, in order.

1. Create your account

Go to Create Account and sign up with a business email address and password. Business accounts don't require an invite code — just verify your email with the code we send you, then sign in.

2. Create your first store

A new business account doesn't have a store yet — you'll see a Create your first store screen the first time you sign in. Select Add your first store and give it a name. That's all this step needs; address, POS, and billing are all handled separately below.

3. Connect your POS

Go to Profile → Platform Configuration and enter your POS Type, Merchant ID, and API Token, then load your transaction history. This is the step that turns on real transaction data — see the full walkthrough in Connecting Your POS (Square or Clover), including exactly where to find your Merchant ID and API Token.

4. Add a payment method

Every new store starts on a free trial, so this isn't blocking — but a card needs to be on file before the trial ends. See Billing & Payment Method for account-wide vs. per-store billing.

5. Optional: invite your team, add more stores

  • Invite teammates with a role appropriate to what they need to do — see Staff & Roles.
  • Have more than one physical location? Each one is its own store in Scroll — use the store switcher (top of the sidebar) → Add a store, then repeat steps 2–4 for it. This applies even if two locations share the same real-world POS account (for example, two Square locations under one Square merchant) — each still gets connected separately in Scroll.

Signing in later

Use Sign In with your business email and password. Forgot your password? Use the "Forgot password?" link on the sign-in page.

What you can do once you're set up

  • Transactions — every sale from your connected POS.
  • Insights / AI Insights — analytics on your sales (requires an active subscription).
  • Loyalty — reward repeat customers with points and tiers. See Loyalty Programs.
  • Promotions — publish discount codes and offers to Scroll consumers. See Promotions.
  • Ads — advertise to Scroll consumers based on real purchase data.
  • Profile — store details, POS connection, staff, and billing, all in one place.

Running more than one store? Switch between them anytime with the store switcher at the top of the sidebar — it's also where you add a new store.
